Microsoft Reshuffles Its Management To Boost Productivity

Last week saw Microsoft making big headlines with the acquisition of Nokia, the biggest mobile manufacturer in the world. Nokia is no longer just a Finland-based mobile manufacturer. It has evolved into a distributor for the Windows mobile platforms.

The buzz does seem to end with the acquisition alone. Microsoft has been trying its best to be more strategic these days. Perhaps, the tech giant has learned that keeping a monopoly in the software field is not as easy as it used to be in the past. Obviously, Microsoft has enjoyed a crucial hegemony in the past as far as the PC market was concerned. The situation is quite different now. People have different choices these days. They can choose Windows if they are so nostalgic about it or go for Mac desktops and Android or iOS when it comes to the touch-based mobile devices.

Nonetheless, the Redmond-based tech giant would not admit defeat any time soon. The latest update from Microsoft suggests that the company is well planned for the future. As of now, it has a solid plan for restructuring the company by strengthening the Microsoft help line services. In contrast to the earliest structure of the company where both the devices and services were combined together for operational convenience, recently Microsoft decided to shift the roles assigned to its key managerial staff. The hardware division of the company will be under the leadership of Julie Larson-Green from now on. Terry Myerson has been tasked with the duty of looking after the Windows section.

As the company now focuses more on the hardware section rather than the software field with the acquisition of Nokia, the other giants in the field such as Samsung, LG, Apple, Sony and Blackberry are somewhat worried. Moreover, the public has also grown interested in the developments within Microsoft. The public expects that the future products from the Nokia-Microsoft joint venture would be more user-friendly and feature advanced computing.
